Dog World Article on Photographing Pets

I just received my comp copies of Dog World Magazine’s February 2009 issue.  For the issue, I was asked to write an article on photographing pets with digital point and shoot cameras.  It was a great exercise for me to write the article as my clients are always asking me how they can achieve better pet photos with their own cameras.  The truth is, it’s not the camera that dictates the quality of the photo, it’s knowing how to use it, understanding the role of light, patience with your models(s), an artistic eye, and most importantly, lots and lots of practice.  Note: Em and Dakota (the adorable girl and her Chocolate Lab pictured below) are also pictured in the article.
